The fan draws in fresh ambient air and forces it into the furnace, where it mixes with fuel to achieve proper ignition and complete combustion. FD fans are typically mounted at the boiler inlet duct and are responsible for maintaining a positive pressure inside the furnace. By providing uniform air distribution, the fan optimizes flame stability, fuel utilization, and thermal efficiency. In industrial applications, the forced draft system plays a vital role in maintaining a consistent heat release rate, reducing unburnt fuel losses, lowering emissions, and protecting the furnace from unstable operating conditions. FD fans are widely used in coal, oil, gas, biomass, and multi-fuel-fired boilers and process heaters across power plants, chemical industries, refineries, and textile mills. These fans are generally centrifugal or axial type , designed to handle large volumes of air at moderate static pressures. Modern FD fans are equipped with dampers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and automation controls to precisely regulate airflow according to load variations. Equipped with IE3/IE4 efficiency motors or VFD-controlled motors for energy saving. Heavy-duty fabricated steel casing with reinforced structure.
